Don't get Peeled...

I was riding down the streets in Colombo, Sri Lanka yesterday and saw this picture of fresh cut bananas brought to market in the city. My mind raced back to the days as a young believer… Bro. Les Sibley is an incredible man of God that the Lord used to speak into my life from time to time. His prayer life kept him on the devil’s hot list as he seemed to ooze with presence from heaven. One day he told me about the banana… if you get pulled from the bunch you are surely going to get peeled! Bro. Les was referring to staying in fellowship with believers and the importance of local church attendance. As I looked @ the picture closer I noticed how large the vine was from where the bananas got their source of nourishment to grow. Jesus told us that he is the VINE… without him we cannot do nothing but he is ready and willing to do the impossible for us. Another thought was that when the banana comes to full ripening, the fruit will fall to the ground so that the seed will bring more fruit… Seed, Time and Harvest.
Sri Lanka is in dire straits these days with conflict and fear on every corner. In the middle of the chaos the Lord is pouring out his grace with signs, wonders and miracles. Please pray for Sri Lanka that Jesus would have mercy…
